Monzilla Media designed the original website for the design_netwerk.

Way back when, while first diving into the bottomless depths of dynamically driven websites, Monzilla Media developed the premier website for the now obsolete design_netwerk. While serving as a vehicle through which I began learning about MySQL databases and PHP-generated content, the design_netwerk site chronicled my exploration of the seemingly endless selection of graphic design, web development, multimedia and other creative organizations represented on the World Wide Web. Several hundred site reviews later, I had produced a significant reference of popular design sites and gained a good understanding of the mechanics and scripting involved with dynamically generated websites.

Every aspect of the design_netwerk site was built entirely from scratch using an ancient version of Dreamweaver, many reference books, and a few truckloads of Diet Coke, English Breakfast tea, and hot coffee. From hand-crafted databases and custom PHP scripts to custom graphics and verbose HTML/CSS, the design_netwerk site provides all the features many CMS and WordPress designers now take for granted: secure user logins, comprehensive search, dynamic navigation and complete administration functionality. Given the time period and my then-novice coding skillz, the design_netwerk site remains an excellent example of what you can achieve with nothing more than a sincere ambition to learn, work, and succeed.
