The goal of the design centered around the client’s specific functional and aesthetic requirements, including everything from standards-compliant markup and unobtrusive JavaScript functionality to super-clean text presentation and streamlined site navigation.

The design of the site caters explicitly to the specifications provided by the technologically proficient client, who wanted to work with a static framework built with HTML 4.01 Strict. Only several pages of clean markup were needed for the project, and the main focus of the design centered around a cross-browser minimalist presentation of light text on a dark background. In addition to the implementation of unobtrusive Flash scripting, the site features custom background graphics suitable to the “celestial” theme of the design.

At the time of this writing, the site has yet to populated with content, but the goal of the client was to establish a custom-fit website that will enable him to eventually personalize and adapt the template pages to suit his needs while allowing for easy population of updates, articles, and multimedia content. Now that the site is built, the client can relax knowing that a solid, well-built site that embraces the principles of modern web design is ready whenever the time is right.
